How busy are the phones?
Posted or Updated on 28 Jan 2026
In December 2025 the practice received a total of 9,475 telephone calls.
Our reception team worked hard to answer these calls as promptly and efficiently as possible, whilst continuing to support patient both on the phone and in person.
Since switching to our new telephone system, we have been able to implement a call back system. Patients who choose this option will receive a call back from the practice in the exact same queue location that you were in, helping to reduce the need to wait on the line.
To help manage call volumes, we are encouraging the use of online services where appropriate. Appointments can be booked online using the NHS app, and we have PATCHS, our online consultation system. Repeat prescriptions can be ordered via the NHS App, PATCHS, email, or our 24 hour a day answer machine.
We kindly ask patients no to telephone the practice to check whether a repeat prescription is ready. Prescriptions are usually available within 2 working days, and patients can collect them directly or check with their nominated pharmacy after this time. This helps free up phone lines for patients with more urgent needs.
