Appointment availability
Posted or Updated on 28 Jan 2026
We currently have 4 GP partners, 1 salaried GP, and 2 Advanced Healthcare Practitioners in permanent roles. We also have up to 3 GP trainees at any one time.
This means we can offer a higher number of appointments than at any point over the last few years.
However, a significant number of patients do not attend their booked appointments. This contributes to pressure on our appointment system and reduces availability for others who may need care.
We have successfully introduced a well received triage system, to help patients receive appropriate care from the most suitable health care professional, some of which may not require a GP appointment.
We also offer online consultation system, PATCHS, that can be used for help with routine health advice and medication enquiries.
Appointment availability (July to December 2025)
The number of Face to face, telephone, and triage appointments provided by GPs, GP trainees, and Advanced Healthcare Practitioners for July to December 2025 was 20,106
During the same period (July to December 2025) there were:
- 109 Failed attendances for GPs, GP trainees, and Advanced Healthcare Practitioners
- 834 failed appointments with the nursing staff.
