Welcome To Woodside Medical Centre

Important: Patient led ordering (repeat medication)

The way repeat prescriptions are ordered is changing. All patients (who are able to do so) are required to order prescriptions directly from the GP practice. This means that for the majority of patients, the pharmacy will no longer order prescriptions on their behalf.

Woodside are rolling out patient-led ordering (PLO) from 27.06.2025

More information here.

Important: National Measles Vaccination

Cases of measles are on the rise in England and there is a growing public health risk.  This has been declared a national incident.

You can read the most up to date advice and guidance here.  If you’ve not had the 2 doses of the MMR vaccination then full details are provided on where to get vaccinated.

If you have symptoms of measles stay at home and phone your GP or NHS 111.

Please DO NOT attend the surgery or A&E without informing them that you think you have measles before your visit – you could spread the illness to others.

The PCN Hub also provides health awareness days as well as the option of self referring for mental health, housing, financial and relationship problems. If you are passing the PCN Hub then pop in and find out about the different services delivered at this venue.

    Stay well in festive season

With so much going on in the run up to the Christmas and New Year period, it’s easy to forget the smaller things like making sure your medicine cabinet is well stocked, your repeat prescriptions are ordered in good time and you know your local pharmacy opening hours. We’re urging everyone to not leave it too late ahead of the upcoming bank holidays.

    Over the counter medicines

Your GP, nurse or pharmacist will not generally give you a prescription for over the counter medicines for a range of minor health concerns.
